Pehov was born on March 30, 1978 in Moscow, but then his family moved to the city of Elektrostal where he spent his childhood. He also graduated from school there.

He went to enter the university in Moscow. He completed his studies at Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry with an internship and postgraduate study at the Central Science Institute, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation; he specializes in orthodontics.
Already in school Pehov began writing, but only since 2001 he took up writing seriously.
The most famous his series "The Chronicles of Sial" (about the thief Garrett), was awarded with «Серебряный кадуцей» (Silver Caduceus) (II place) at the International Festival Звездный Мост (Star Bridge) in 2003, with the first book of the trilogy, "Shadow prowler". The novel "Under the Sign of the Manticor" was named the best novel in 2004 according to the magazine Мир фантастики (World of Fiction). Other famous Russian literature awards also followed.
Pehov also works as a screenwriter for computer games, including the «King's Bounty. The Legend" and the add-ons of «Heroes of Might and Magic V»(in collaboration with Elena Bychkova and Natalia Turchaninova).
Pehov is a member of the Writers' Union of Russia and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) association.
In 2011, the first book of the Chronicles of Sial «Shadow Prowler» was nominated for the prestigious Fantasy Award «The David Gemmell Legend Award for Fantasy - 2011» (DGLA) in the nomination «Morningstar (Best Fantasy Debut)». In 2012, the second book of the Chronicles of Sial «Shadow chaser» hit the long list of awards «2011/12 David Gemmell LEGEND Award».
He is married to Elena Bychkova, a professional journalist and science fiction writer; they have written some novels together.
