Alf Murray

Career

He is regarded as one of the greatest players of all-time. Murray enjoyed a lengthy club career with Clann Éireann. In retirement from playing Murray was heavily involved in the administration of the Gaelic Athletic Association. He was secretary of the Armagh County Board and chairman of the Ulster Council, before serving as President of the Gaelic Athletic Association from 1964 to 1967.

Achievements

• He failed to win any silverware at senior level, however, he did win an Ulster medal at junior level in 1935.

Membership

Murray joined the team during the 1935 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen for the next decade.
