Career
He was born in Hamilton, New Zealand on 17 May 1911. He developed the electric fence for farmers in 1936–1937, and founded the Gallagher Group to manufacture lieutenant Another son, John, was in the business until 1997.
Gallagher died from cancer in Hamilton in 1990 and was buried in Hamilton Park Cemetery.
