Gillow"s batting and bowling styles are unknown. Gillow made his first-class debut for the Gentlemen of Kent against the Gentlemen of England at Lord"s in 1859. He made three further first-class appearances in 1860.
Two for Kent against England at Lord"s and the Street Lawrence Ground, as well as for the Gentlemen of Kent against the Gentlemen of Marylebone Cricket Club.
In his four appearances in first-class cricket, Gillow scored 41 runs at an average of 6.83, with a high score of 14 not out. He died at Chartham, Kent on 12 August 1897.
