School education received at one of the Warsaw “ Gymnasia.” Was apprenticed to a Glasgow firm of electrical engineers—Messrs. M‘Whirter, Ferguson, and Company, 1884. At the same time attended evening classes at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College (at that time College of Science and Art), gaining a number of certificates and prizes.
On completing a threeyears’ apprenticeship, entered the University of Edinburgh, and, obtaining 1st class honours in all the subjects, graduated Bachelor of Science 1891.
Doctor of Science.
After that went to London, and for two terms studied electro-technology under late Professor Ayrton at Central Technical College. Demonstrator in Electrical Engineering at the University College, Nottingham, 1892. Lecturer on Electro-Technics at University College, Liverpool, 1896-1901.
Graduated Doctor of Science 1901.
