Admitted to graduate school in Harvard, 1890-1891.
Morgan fellow, Harvard, 1891-1892, studying philosophy, psychology and political economy (Doctor of Philosophy, Harvard).
Spent 2 years in Europe. On return to the United States became regular contributor to New York Nation. Received appointment Bryn Mawr College to give courses in English drama and English literature.
Declined re-appointment, 1898.
From then devoted to writing. Author: The Powers that Prey (under pseudonym of “Francis Walton” and in collaboration with “Josiah Flynt”), 1900.
