Mr. Priest maintained an independent office in California in the Fay Building, Los Angeles, and for a number of years made his home in near-by Glendale. He left Nebraska when a young man to start a professional career in California. In his architectural work Mr. Priest designed a number of residences, public schools and club houses, the most important of which were the Herbert Hoover High School, the Theodore Roosevelt Intermediate (both in Los Angeles), and the New Elks Club in Glendale.
