Studied at Denbigh Commercial School, North Wales.
Entered the lithographic house of Maclure, Macdonald, and Macgregor, Liverpool, 1869. Inspired with South Kensington ideals about 1872, by son of the proprietor, Mr. A. G. Macgregor; came to Toronto, Canada, to the lithographic establishment of Rolph, Smith & Company, 1876.
Left that firm to open a studio, 1885. Elected Associate (designer) Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, 1881. Design chiefly decorated books, addresses, resolutions, etc.
Designed and executed the address from the women of Canada to Queen Alexandra, presented to Her Majesty by Lady Aberdeen in 1901. Member of Ontario Society of Artists. R.C.A. 1882; Designer.
