Hobson, Alfred Norman was born on April 1, 1848 in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, United States. Son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Baker) Hobson.

Student Upper Iowa U. and State University of Iowa (non-graduate).

Career

Admitted to Iowa bar, 1870, to Supreme Court of the Iowa, 1873, to the United States courts, 1881. Practiced in West Union as member Ainsworth & Hobson, 1875-1893, Ainsworth, Hobson & Ainsworth, 18 months to close of 1894. Mayor of West Union, March-September 1882 (resigned).

Judge District Court, 13th Judicial District of Iowa, 6 terms of 4 years each, 1894-1818.
