SHORT DESCRIPTION: One man's view of the world around him, summarized in 108 sonnets on topics ranging from poetry, history, science and technology to acceptance, religion, and thanks. FROM THE INTRODUCTION: Verses for the 21st Century: Adam and Eve on the Internet is a book of love and promise. My father is a poet who is always writing poetry. Its as simple as that. For as long as I can remember, he captured and synthesized his world in words written on pieces of paper or in small notebooks. Carefully chosen words tethered his experiences to papers which he routinely tucked into his pockets, his briefcase, and then into overflowing drawers. Sometime later he would unpack these notes, contemplate their value, and poems would emerge. He worked at these verses. He studied the works of others. He experimented with other styles, but time and again he returned to the structure, discipline, and form of the sonnet. As a child I was awed by the breadth of his vocabulary and the rhythm of his words. I drew strength and pleasure from his persistent search for words and derivations in dictionaries. I cheered when for his eighty-seventh birthday he bought himself a new set of Encyclopaedia Britannica, because there was so much he still wanted to learn. My mother is an artist who creates beautiful works of art and beautiful home environments for us to live within. Its as simple as that. In her search for new ideas and media, she began to explore computer graphics. The cover and chapter graphics of this book are her creations. As the child of an attorney-poet and an artist-designer I see this volume as a book of their love and commitmentto each other, to life, and to tomorrow. I see this book as a book of promiseto take these words, ideas and images into the 21st century to be savored and contemplated. - Frances Israelstam Levin
