Ramos is the Chairman of the publicly-listed mining firm, Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development, the second largest mining company in the Philippines. Other companies he chairs are Anglo Philippines Holding Corporation, Atlas Publishing Group of Companies, Anvil Publishing, National Book Store, Inc., The Philodril Corporation and Vulcan Industrial and Mining Corporation, Penta Capital Finance Corporation and Trafalgar Holdings Philippines, Inc.
He is also the Vice-Chairman of Shang Properties, Shangri-La Plaza Corporation, the MRT Development Corporation, Metro Rail Transit Corporation, Penta Capital Holdings Corporation, and Philippine Seven Corporation.
He was also the former chairman of Prime Gaming Philippines Corporation, whose subsidiary Prime Gaming Management has exclusive contract with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes office for the supply of lottery terminals.

In May 2009, Anglo Philippines Holdings led by Alfredo Ramos, Goldman Sachs, Fil-Estate Management, Ramcar Inc. Ayala Land Inc. and Greenfield Development Corporation sold its shares in MRT-3 to Land Bank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines. The government acquisition through the state-owned banks consisted of 75 percent stake in the MRT Holdings.
In July 2010, several Chinese firms expressed were keen on partnering with Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation, due to the appreciation of nickel prices. The group will develop the nickel mine in Berong Palawan, the fourth largest nickel laterite resource in the world.
