Ordained in 1893, his first post was as a curate in Warrington. From 1899 he was Vicar of Street Jude’s, Liverpool. He was then Dean of Stamford, Lincolnshire before elevation to the Episcopate.
Between 1933 and 1949 he was rector of Street Andrew and Street Mary"s Church, Stoke Rochford.
He died on 27 June 1949.
