Ali Safa-Sonboli

Career

He participated at the 1958 Asian Games, in the Featherweight division, and at the 1957 World Weightlifting Championships, and the 1958 World Weightlifting Championships, in the Bantamweight division, and also at the 1960 Summer Olympics, in the Featherweight division. After retiring from championship weightlifting, he became an International Referee through The Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF).

Achievements

• Silver medal winner at the 1957 World Weightlifting Championship Tehran, Iran. Silver medal winner at the 1958 3rd Asian Games Tokyo, Japan. Bronze medal winner at the 1958 World Weightlifting Championship Stockholm, Sweden.
