From demonstrator to full professor Kuwait University, 1973-1985, professor, since 1985, chairman geology department, 1975-1978, assistant dean faculty science, 1977-1982, dean faculty science, 1982-1984. Director general Kuwait Foundation for Advancement of Science, since 1985. Minister higher education Kuwait, 1988-1992.

Member joint committee Kuwait University and Kuwait Institute of Science Research. Member council Kuwait University, 1982-1984, member committee for evaluation of educational system, member establishment committee Kuwait Military Academy, chairman college scholarship committee, 1978-1984, science college council, 1978-1982, chairman 1982-1984. Delegate to numerous conferences and congresses.

Achievements
