Janine graduated from in 2003 with a degree in Criminal Justice/Police Certification and is currently (2014) a graduate student at Capella University double majoring in general and clinical psychology. She is a member of a number of honor societies including:

Career
Alia Janine started in the Adult Entertainment Industry as an exotic dancer and feature entertainer when she was 20 years old. She began her career performing in adult films in 2009 when she costarred in Mamazon by the Score Group. Since then, Janine worked with some of the top companies in the business, producing over 150 scenes throughout the web, DVDs, and print.
Janine retired from the Adult Entertainment Industry in 2013 to go back to school and to focus on her writing, stand-up comedy, and acting.
Besides adult films, she has also been featured in music videos, television talk shows, news shows, and radio shows, as well as cable and feature films. Alia Janine co-starred alongside Angie Savage and Brandy Aniston in the made-for-television film Booty Hunter.
She was also an extra in the Spike Jonez film Her. Janine also appeared on Playboy television"s original series Foursome as herself on Season 4, Episode 5.
As a porn performer Janine spoke widely about the adult industry"s Measure B and testing protocols.
She has appeared on Russia television, as well as multiple blogs, radio shows, podcasts, and video interviews to voice her opinion on Measure B and the testing procedures. Alia Janine began her comedy career in 2010 when she appeared on Sam Tripoli"s The Naughty Show and in skits at the Hollywood Improv. Upon her retirement from the adult industry in 2013, Janine moved to New York City to pursue a full-time career in a standup comedy.
She has trained at the Comedy Cellar in New York City, and at Gotham Comedy Club through the Manhattan Comedy School.
She also studies improv and sketch writing at Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City. Janine"s unique transition from the adult industry into comedy has been profiled by Vice magazine, The Daily Dot, On Milwaukee, and Laughspin.
Janine"s post-porn career has been prolific enough to earn a 2015 AVN Award nominationfor "Mainstream Star of the Year," for her work in comedy. Janine performs at New York City comedy clubs including The Stand, the Comedy Cellar, Upright Citizens Brigade, and Gotham Comedy Club.
Janine also produces and hosts her own comedy show, Cutthroat Comedy, in New York City’s The Cutting Room, which is owned by actor Chris Noth and musician Steve Walter.
Janine started a podcast in 2014, The Scatterbrains in which she played off her experiences in the adult entertainment industry and talks about her transition from porn to comedy. In November 2014, Janine announced the launch of a podcast network, The Misfits Network, hosting a wide variety of podcast shows.
