She died at the age of 107. She was the last known female British World War I veteran in the United Kingdom. Her non-combat service was as a Leading Aircraftswoman in the Royal Flying Corps, as a "doper" waterproofing aircraft wings. The last female veteran in the world was Gladys Powers, who died in 2008.
