Alice pattee Comparetti

Alice Comparetti was born December 1st 1907 in South Bend, Indiana, United States.

Education

Comparetti obtained her doctoral degree at Cornell University in 1936

Career

After Comparetti obtained her doctoral degree, she joined the faculty of Colby College where she was promoted to full professor of English literature in 1961. Her first book, a critical edition of William Wordsworth’s The White Doe of Rylstone, was published by Cornell University Press in 1940. Her only other book-length publication was Gregory’s Angels (1972), issued as The Hammer of Thor in England in 1974.
