2000Alicia Arrizón is an adherent of radical democratic views and critical thinker.
Alicia Arrizón's primary motivation for writing is the dissemination of knowledge marginal to mainstream society. The work of many Latina artists (and many other subjects) and historical facts influence her work. Her writing process is an accumulation of many things; research and original thinking. In the book "Latina Performance: Traversing the Stage," Alicia Arrizón interrogates the connections between Latina identity and the emergence of a Latina performance aesthetic in the United States during the twentieth century. She suggests that the borders between performance and gender are multiple in ways that are not only reflective of Latina traditions but also constitutive of a fractured subjectivity that has been historically ignored.
Alicia Arrizón's loves animals and music.
Alicia Arrizón's life partner is Gina Marie Ong, attorney.
