Began as sculptor, 1917. Worked with stone and terra cotta. Became instructor Beaux-Arts Institute of Design, New York City.
Traveled in Japan, of Korea, China to study Oriental art, 1924-1927.
Visited the cave chapels, Turkestan, for Fogg Museum and made drawings for the museum. Has applied the Oriental technique to wood carving.
Works include portrait bust of Madam Galli-Curci. Figure of Nakamura Gonjiro (Honolulu Academy Art).
