Career
Joined the Royal Academy of Music Corps, 1885. Retired with the rank of Major, 1897. Was in medical charge of prisoners of war in Ceylon, 1900-1903.
Holds the following medical qualifications—Doctor of Medicine (Durham), Diploma in Public Health (London), Member Royal College of Surgeons (England), Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries (London), Knight of Grace, St. John of Jerusalem. Knt; cartulary-register 1904; Principal Civil Medical Officer and InspectorGeneral of Hospitals, Ceylon, since 1897; Principal, Ceylon Medical College.
