Ossip studied at York Mills Collegiate Institute from 1978 to 1982. In 1982, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Commerce from the University of Toronto. Also in 1988, Ossip was given a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University.
Ossip began his career as a partner at Goodman and Car LLP in 1988 and had held it for eighteen years. In 1999, he took a position of a director at Workbrain, Inc., where he worked until 2007. The same years Alon served as a director at Workbrain Corporation. Since 2005 he has been a managing director at Os Investments, Inc.
In 2006, Ossip was appointed a counsel at Miller Thomson LLP. and had held it for seven years. The same years he worked as an executive vice president at Magna International, Inc.
