Began at 21 with Walter Aiken in manufacturer of hosiery at Franklin, and 4 years later became member of firm of Sulloway & Daniell. Sole proprietor of mill, 1869-1888. Business incorporated, 1888, as the Sulloway Mills (president and treasurer).
One of first to engage in manufacturer of full-fashioned hosiery in the United States after passage of Dingley tariff bill, 1897.
Identified with the Mayo Knitting Machine Company, since 1888, and organized the Mayo Knitting Machine & Needle Company, 1896. President Franklin National Bank, since 1879.
