He served briefly from September 3, 2001 till October 11, 2001 until Parouk South. Hussin became governor. In 2007 he became mayor of Indanan, Sulu but was impeached in June, 2008 over the kidnapping of Ces Drilon and her cameramen. The Court of Appeals has tried to revive the charges since.
