Career
Prior to heading back to Houston, he most recently served as Director of Basketball Operations for the Kentucky Wildcats. He coached the Houston Cougars from 1993 to 1998. He also served as an assistant coach for the Texas Technical Red Raiders basketball team and was at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical through the "06-"07 season.
On July 23, 2007, a Lexington, Kentucky media outlet reported that Brooks had been hired as an assistant coach by Billy Gillispie at the Kentucky Wildcats.
