lieutenant was her third attempt at the title, as she placed third runner-up in the 2003 event and first runner-up in the 2004 competition. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder Michelle Fongemie. She attempted to become the first delegate from this state to place since 1980 but was unsuccessful.
Mitteer is a 1996 graduate of Brattleboro High School and went on to complete a degree in secondary English education from the University of Vermont in 2000.
In 2003 she graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center in New Hampshire. Mitteer is admitted to practice law in the state of Florida.
Mitteer won the Mission Vermont United States of America 2005 title in a state pageant held in late 2004. Mitteer represented Vermont in the Mission United States of America 2005 pageant broadcast live from Baltimore, Maryland in April 2005. The competition was won by Chelsea Cooley of North Carolina.
