Amanda Tapley

She was crowned Mission Alabama in June 2008. She placed in the top 15 contestants at the Mission America 2009 pageant. Tapley is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a graduate of Briarwood Christian School.
Tapley is a graduate of Samford University in Homewood, Alabama, and the UAB School of Medicine.
Her career goal is to practice emergency medicine. As of June 2015, Tapley is a resident in emergency medicine at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Tapley"s platform is “Music Foreign A Cure” and her competition talent was piano, performing the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto Number 1. In the run-up to Mission America 2009 in January 2009, Tapley was on the TLC show Countdown to the Crown.

Tapley won the 2008 Mission Alabama scholarship pageant in June 2008. Her local title as Mission Stamford University placed her into the Mission Alabama competition, which she won on her first try. Tapley was also named preliminary winner in the talent and swimsuit competitions as well as winner of the pageant"s overall talent and interview competitions. She was a "wild card" gold sash winner, making it to the finals of the preliminary competition. After a nationwide vote, she was selected as one of four "America"s Choice" winners, which placed her into the top 15 at the Mission America pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was also 2nd runner-up to the Mission America Quality of Life Award for community service.
