He was interested in playing the dholak since childhood, so he used to give Dalda ghee box to play. He then spent seven years learning classical tabla training from Ustad Nazir Khan. Ustad Ameer Ali introduced Anb Jogi on Radio Pakistan and Shah Abdul Latif conference in 1988.
Concurrently he performed on Pakistan Television (PTV).
