Several years a member of Public Board of Education for the Territories. Indian Commissioner, 1895. Lieutenant-Governor of the North-West Territories, 1898-1905. First Lieut-Govemor of Province of Saskatchewan since 1905.
Spouse 1876, Henriette,daughter of C. Drolet of Montreal.
