Amer Jassim Al-Khafaji is a Ph.D. graduate of Baghdad, Iraq, and Stanford Universities (2010), and a Professor of Petroleum Geology, Organic Geochemistry, and petroleum systems, as well as Geoarchaeology, in the Department of Geology at the University of Babylon until now, with experience and consultancies in Biomarkers, hydrocarbon exploration, geoarchaeology, and environmental applications of sedimentary organic matter

In 2010 Amer received Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Baghdad in Baghdad, Iraq, University of Iraq in Baghdad, Iraq, and Stanford University in Stanford, California, United States.
Career
Amer is a Professor of petroleum geology, organic geochemistry, and petroleum systems as well as geoarchaeology and palynology at the department of geology at the University of Babylon in Babylon, Iraq.
He works in the area of consultancies in biomarkers, hydrocarbon exploration, basin modeling, geoarchaeology, and environmental applications of sedimentary organic matters. Now, Amer works as an associate dean for scientific affairs.
