He last played for Football Club Vityaz Krymsk. He made his debut in the Russian Second Division for Football Club Chernomorets Novorossiysk on July 16, 2012 in a game against Football Club Kavkaztransgaz-2005 Ryzdvyany. He played for PFC Spartak Nalchik in the Russian Cup.
He is the older brother of Alikhan Shavayev.
