Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physical Culture, 1977.


Honoured Master of Sports (hockey), 1964. With the Central Sports Club of the Army. USSR champion, 1963-1973.

European champion, 1964-1970. World champion, 1964-1971. Olympic champion, 1964, 1968, 1972.

Regarded as the best forward at the 1968 Olympic championship, and the 1967 and 1971 world championships. Became a legendary athlete. His professional life is well documented in the Soviet press.
