UFIMTSEV, Anatoliy was born on March 24, 1880 in Kursk.
1890-1898 studied at Kursk High School.
1900 imprisoned in Peter-and-Paul Fortress and then exiled to Siberia for revol activities and for helping to blow up a “miraculous” icon in Kursk. After return from exile worked on aircraft design. 1909 — 10 built “spheroplane”.
Designed birotary aircraft engines with cylinders arranged X—wise around the crankshaft. 1911 took out Patent 19997 on a four-cylinder birotary engine, for which he won Grand Silver Medal at 1912 International Aviation Exhibition, Moscow. Did research on wind-powered devices.
1918 invented an inertion accumulator. Together with V.P.Vetchinkin, designed a wind-motor which was used successfully in wind-driven power stations. His other inventions included a high-speed printing machine and cartridges for muzzle-loaders.
