Education
He graduated from the Jingu-Kogakukan College, a Shintoist institution (1898), and continued his study at the Tokyo University Literature Department.
Career
Was professor at Jingu-Kogakukan, Nihon Womens College, and Waseda University before he became director of the Literature Department and librarian at Taihoku (Taipei) University (1928). He wrote books on the classical Japanese language and culture.
