Career
Born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Gabias was first elected in the 2003 election, and originally served as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Public Security. In the spring of 2005, he was appointed as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade. In the 2007 Quebec elections, Gabias lost the seat to the Action démocratique du Québec"s Sébastien Proulx who had received the support of Trois-Rivières mayor Yves Lévesque during the campaign.
