Andrew Dreves is an artist, designer + writer
His mixed media photo assemblage works utilize inventive materials and processes focusing mainly on subjects with historical social narratives, landscape / environmental themes and architectural space.
After earning a B.F.A.in interior architectural design from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), Andrew went on to initially practice interior architecture in Princeton (NJ) with several nationally and internationally known architectural firms. During this time and in addition to his interior architectural projects, Andrew maintained an art studio in Princeton showing his work both locally and regionally in galleries and museums.
He also studied printmaking with internationally known printmaker Margaret Kennard Johnson, (a student of Josef Albers at Black Mountain College) and also studied at the Rutgers Center for Innovative Print & Paper (RCIPP) in New Brunswick (NJ).
His award-winning mixed media works have been selected for exhibition in both galleries and museums by internationally acclaimed artists and critics such as Janet Fish, Jacob Landau and Donald Kuspit.
Andrew worked as an Interior designer in Mancini Duffy Associates in Parsippany, New Jersey, United States in 1990, Michael Landau Assocs., Architects, Princeton, 1990-1997; with CUH2A Inc, since 1997; Consultant artist Numetal Surfaces, Riverside, New Jersey, 1994-1996. Exhibited in group shows at Bates Gallery Edinboro University, 1986, University of Arts, Rosenwald-Wolf Gallery, Philadelphia, 1987, Holman Hall Gallery of Art Trenton University, 1992, 95, Trenton City Museum, 1993-1994 (honorary mention for mixed media); Artworks: Visual Arts School Princeton and Trenton, New Jersey, 1993, 97, The MCCC Gallery, Trenton, 1993, Realm Design Gallery, Warren, New Jersey, 1996, New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, Summit, 1997 International Juried Exhibit, Skidmore Art Consultant, Princeton; represented in permanent collections including Carnegie Mellon University School Business; represented in various private collections.
