According to a report in the Daily Princetonian, the endowment earned a 5.6 percent return for the 12 months ended in June 2008, growing from $15.8 billion to $16.4 billion. Golden"s investment approach is based on "challenging conventionality."
Golden graduated from Rutgers Preparatory and went on to earn his bachelor"s degree from Duke University and his master"s degree from Yale School of Management in 1989. Golden also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Before joining Princeton in 1995, Golden worked with David Swensen as an intern and then as Portfolio Manager at Yale"s Investment Office from 1988 to 1993.
Golden"s brothers, Doctor Robert North. Golden and Jeffrey Golden, are also leaders in their chosen fields, with Robert the Dean of the School of Medicine and Public Health and Vice Chancellor for Medical Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Jeffrey a lawyer
