He was a chorister at Durham Cathedral, attended Uppingham School, and then a Choral Scholar at King"s College, Cambridge.
Career
Further study at the Royal College of Music was followed by a place on the Vilar Young Artists programme at the Royal Opera House. Andrew is represented by Hazard Chase. In September 2014, Andrew took up the role of Head of Singing at Westminster School in central London.

He won 1st prize at the Jackdaws Vocal Award in 1999 (now called the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards) and from 2005–2007 he was a member of the British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme. In 2005, he won the British Broadcasting Corporation Cardiff Singer of the World Rosenblatt Recital Prize. In 2006, he received a Borletti Buitoni Trust Award.
