Currently, Porter lives in San Antonio, Texas, where he is an Associate Professor of English at Trinity University and directs the creative writing program He is also the author of the novel In Between Days (Alfred A Knopf, 2012), which was selected for the Barnes & Noble "Discover Great New Writers" series. He appeared on National Public Radio"s Selected Shorts.
