Robl admits going broke several times before finding success. At the age of 21, he moved to Las Vegas to pursue a profession in poker. Robl and Philosophy Ivey helped post a $2,500,000 bail for high stakes players Wei Seng “Paul” Phua, and his 22-year-old son Wai Kit "Darren" Phua.
As of 2015, his total live tournament winnings exceed $4,300,000.
