He graduated from Kiev university of national education in 1932.
Malyshko had his works published since 1930. He is the author of numerous books of poems, starting from the book «Motherland» («Rodina», 1936). During the Great Patriotic War Malyshko was a reporter of the Southwestern Front newspaper «Red Army», «For Soviet Ukraine!». Since the autumn of 1941 till the spring of 1942, he lived in Voronezh, where in 1942 his lyrics books «Over fires», «My Ukraine!» were published. In March 1942 Malyshko made a speech in Red Army Center at Taras Shevchenko commemoration gathering.
