Andrey graduated from the 8th grade, the school of FZU, aeroclub.
Since 1951 he studied at Higher Flight and Tactical Courses for the Improvement of Officers.
Andrey worked as a turner in the workshops of the Polytechnic, at the factory.
In the Red Army since 1941. In 1942 he graduated from the Chernigov Military Aviation Pilots School. In the army since November 1943.
The commander of the 451st Assault Aviation Regiment (264th Assault Air Division, 5th Assault Air Corps, 5th Air Army, 2nd Ukrainian Front), Lieutenant Andrey Yushchenko accomplished one hundred and twenty-nine successful sorties by February 1945 destruction of the enemy's manpower and equipment.
By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for exemplary fulfillment of combat missions of the command on the front of the struggle against the German fascist invaders and shown with courage and heroism, Lieutenant Yushchenko Andrey Semenovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 9062).
After the war, he continued his service in the USSR Air Force. Since 1961, Lieutenant-Colonel Yushchenko AS - in reserve, and then retired.
Lived in Minsk. Before retiring he worked at the plant of electronic computers. He died on January 21, 2006. He was buried in the East cemetery of the city of Minsk.
