Did research on photosynthesis.
Perfected instrument for the exact analysis of small gas exchanges (Povlovtsev-Rikhler apparatus), which is used in many Soviet physiological laboratories. Made studies of the resistance of plants to drought, cold and salty soils. Also made studies of fermentation, the biochemistry of agric crops and the immunity of plants to fungi and other diseases.
