Completed higher educational.

Career

1888-1889 studied the insects of the Transcaspian area and Western Turkestan. 1890-1895 custodian, from 1895-1897 senior zoologist, Zoological Museum, Russian Academy of Sciences. 1897 resigned on political grounds, after which he was active in the Russian Entomological Social and the Russian Geographical Social.

After 1917 October Revol resumed work at Zoological Museum, then worked for Zoological Institute, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Sciences. Did research on insect taxonomy, zoogeography and fauna. Acquired a large collection of Coleóptera.

Also worked on the theory of species.
