SOKOLOV, Andrey was born in 1898 in Balashov.
1922 graduated Petrovsk Agriculture Academy, now the Timiryazev Agriculture Academy.
1923-1925 at Engelhardt Experi mental Agriculture Station. 1925-1930 Head, Agronomy Department, Polessk Experimental Agriculture Station. 1930-1937 Head, Laboratory of Nitrogen and Compound Fertilizers, Moscow Institute of Fertilizers, now the Research Institute of Fertilizers and Insectofungicides, State Committee on Chemistry, USSR Council of Ministers.
Since 1938 Head, Agronomical Phosphorus Laboratory, above institutes. V.-President, All-Union Society of Pedologists. Chairman, Section of Agrochemistry and Pedology, Moscow House of Scientists.
Member, Editor Board, journal “Pochvovedenie” (Pedology). Member, Learned Council: Dokuchaev Soil Institute, USSR Academy of Science. Institute of Fodder Crops.
