He studied at the Faculty of History in Lomonosov Moscow State University (1992) and at the Moscow Academy of Advertising, Marketing, and Management (2004). During his studies, he was drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces for two years (he served in the Group of Forces in Hungary). He speaks French and English.
He played in the student theater and worked as a DJ at Moscow discos.
Since 1992 he worked as a correspondent and news anchor on the radio station Maximum. Then he became a columnist of the weekly Novy Vzglyad, he also worked as a columnist for the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets.
Since autumn 1995 he worked as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper MuzOboz, and from the spring of 1996 to 1997 he was the editor-in-chief of the MuzOboz magazine.
He is the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Movement.
