1903 joined Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party and worked for Baku Menshevik organisation. 1905 organized Social-Democratic battle squads in Caucasus and served as secretary, Baku Soviet. Several times arrested and exiled.
1906 served one year in prison for his connection with the 1905 rail strike. 1907 wounded together with his wife in an assassination bid by a Russian People's Union terrorist group. 1913 after graduate Kiev University, stayed on at university to prepare for professorship but was later expelled on political grounds.
1913-1917 lit and teaching work. 1915-1917 also assistant barrister in Moscow. After 1917 October Revol held various exec posts at People's Commissariat of Food and Public Prosecutor’ General’ s Office.

From 1928 chairman, Special Office of Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Supreme Court for so-called “Shakhtinskiy Case”. 1930, chairman, Special Office of Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Supreme Court to try Professor Ramzin’s “Indiana Party” case. 1931-1933 Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Prosecutor and Deputy People's Commissar of Justice.
1933-1935 Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Deputy People's Prosecutor. 1935-1939 Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Public Prosecutor. 1933-1938 appeared as state prosecutor at many major trials: 1933 in Melro-Vickcrs trial.
