He also finished fourth in the 50 and 100m freestyle, he was also part of the Ukrainian 4 × 100 m freestyle team that failed to make it to the final having finished fifth in the heats and the team that finished sixth in the 4 × 100 m medley final. In the 2008 games he repeated his medals, again setting a new world record in winning the 100m breastroke and finishing in silver behind Matthew Cowdrey who also broke the world record but this time added a bronze in the 4 × 100 m medley, he also swam in 50m freestyle finishing sixth, 100m freestyle finishing fourth and 100m butterfly where he finished fifth.
