Andrzej Dobber studied singing under Professor Helena Lazarska at the Academy of Music in Krakow and continued his training at the Nuremberg Conservatory.

He came second in both the 1983 International Dvorák Competition in Karlsbad and in the 1986 Ada Sari Competition for the Vocal Arts in Poland.
