Ranadive grew up in Atherton, California. His father, Vivek Ranadive, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of TIBCO, a multi-billion dollar real-time computing company, and majority owner of the Sacramento Kings in the National Basketball Association.
He graduated from Columbia University with a Mathematics degree in 2006.
