He was educated at the Bingerville Higher Primary School and at the Dabou Teachers’ School, then at the universities of Dakar, Poitiers and Grenoble, where he finally took a Diploma in Higher Studies (DES) in geography, in 1960.
The following year he became a lecturer at the Cocody Technical Secondary School in Abidjan and headmaster in 1965. Appointed
Assistant Director of the Technical Education and Professional Training Department, he was elevated to Minister on January 5, 1970.
